Pastoral Partner Program
|
The Pastoral Partner Program is a ministry which provides low-key caring relationships between designated volunteer members of the congregation and clusters of families and individuals in the parish as a means to help us all stay connected outside of church activities.
It is not just for a certain part of the congregation. It is for everyone. The only limits are set by the number of volunteers we have. It is nice to know in a parish the size of Trinity that someone knows your name, prays for you, and cares that you are here!
The Pastoral Partner Program is simply a way that lay people within a large and growing congregation can know that someone cares about them, keeps a friendly eye out for them, and prays for them on a regular basis.
The Partner is also around if you should have a concern which requires clergy or parish assistance. They can sometimes be helpful in making that connection. Partners do not have to have members who are ill or home bound. They are just “friends.” The Partner does not have to go see the member; the Partner may call or send a note or card.
There is ongoing training which is provided by face-to-face meeting with speakers and videos and a newsletter. The get-togethers provide an opportunity to share and to support one another. The Partner does not have to attend every training session as the newsletter provides training information.
We are growing and still need Partners to meet our goal of having a caring connection for every member of the parish who wants one. The commitment includes an initial training and ongoing training sessions.
We also need people interested in connecting with parish members on a short term basis, instead of an ongoing interaction.
If you are interested in this wonderful ministry please contact Star Rudge or the church office.
