We started our outreach to St Matthew’s in 2002 by word of mouth when Rev. Pat heard that they needed support for their many neighborhood programs. Trinity initially responded by offering donations to defray their utility bills, and later provided diaper money, then breakfast foods. We became the group they could call at the last minute to help them, with food for a Thanksgiving dinner, or gifts for their annual Christmas party. Deacon Cindy establishes monthly or bi-monthly themes to help direct our collection efforts. Trinity Thrift Shop jumped in somewhere along the line, donating clothing, shoes and bedding. We are in our 12th year of working with St Matthew’s on this win-win partnership.
