Education

Adult Education at Trinity

We offer a variety of Adult Education opportunities at Trinity. We strive to inspire life-long learning as a way to continually challenge ourselves to deepen our faith and theological understanding, and to inform our practice of discipleship.


Sunday School for Adults

Sunday School for Adults meets weekly at 10:30am in the Parish Hall throughout the program year. Learn more about Sunday School for Adults on our Sunday School page.


Bible Study (Online)

Bible Study meets Wednesday mornings at 11am on Zoom to discuss one of the coming Sunday's Scripture readings. The scripture selection is announced in our weekly electronic newsletter, the Trinity Tidings. The Zoom link for Bible Study can be found there as well. Trinity Book Group

Trinity Book Group meets weekly from 6pm to 7pm on Wednesdays throughout the program year for thoughtful discussions on a range of books, enriching spiritual and intellectual growth and challenging us to find new ways to love God and our neighbors. Sacred Ground

Developed by The Episcopal Church, Sacred Ground is an eleven-session faith-based exploration of race, racism, and racial history in America through readings and films, fostering discussions on racial healing, reconciliation, and justice.


Sacred Ground meets approximately twice a month from January through June. Registration is required and space is limited. Education for Ministry (EfM)

Education for Ministry (EfM) an intensive theological education program for laypeople combining  worship, group and individual study, and spiritual reflection in a small seminar format under the guidance of trained mentors. The entire program is comprised of four one-year cycles of thirty-six weekly meetings each.



EfM was developed at and is administered by The School of Theology of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee (Sewanee EfM website), a university run by The Episcopal Church. There are EfM groups all over the world, and around the Diocese of California.


Focused on scripture, study, and theological reflections, EfM empowers participants to deepen their Christian development and discern their callings. Meetings are held weekly on Zoom during the school year.


EfM requires registration opens annually each fall to allow for new members. Details are announced in our weekly electronic newsletter, the Trinity Tidings. For more information, contact mentor Tim Knight or the church office.


Contemplative Practice

The Contemplative Practice group provides an opportunity to learn about and practice contemplative prayer and meditation. The group meets on the third Saturday of the month at 1:30pm in the Annex.
