Prayer

at Trinity

Prayer is central to our worship and our spiritual lives. Whether praying individually or as a corporate body, in words, acts, or silence, we experience a closeness with God and one another. Prayers may take the form of addressing God, as in prayers of petition, praise, and thanksgiving; or the form of listening, as in contemplative and meditative prayer. Through prayer, we provide support to one another, especially in times of crisis, illness, or grief.

Jesus teaches us to come before God with humble hearts, offering our thanksgivings and concerns to God or simply listening for God’s voice in our lives and in the world. Whether in thought, word or deed, individually or corporately, when we pray we invite and dwell in God’s loving presence.

Contemplative Prayer

Contemplative prayer is characterized by stillness and quiet. It is prayer without words, without images, thoughts, worries, or plans, in which we use our hearts and minds to recognize and rest in God's presence.

Contemplative prayer is a part of our Wednesday evening online Compline service and our Sunday Evening Contemplative Eucharistic service.

Contemplative Practice is held monthly on Saturday afternoons to learn about and practice contemplative prayer and meditation.

Intercessory Prayer

Intercessory prayers bring the needs of others before God. Through these prayers, we provide support to one another, especially in times of crisis, illness, or grief.

There are several ways to submit prayer requests which are then prayed by one of Trinity's intercessory prayer ministries.
